Liz Bates, Chief Executive Officer
Liz comes to Deafblind UK with 25 years experience in the health and social care sectors, during which time she was Chief Executive of a Primary Care Group. Her experience includes establishing and developing a new primary care organisation, managing a commissioning portfolio for voluntary and community organisations, and coaching and mentoring senior executives. She has most recently been working in the charity sector leading the design and implementation of a national model that enables better engagement between the charity and health sectors.
Prior to becoming Interim Chief Executive, Liz was a Trustee for Deafblind UK from February 2011 – March 2016.
Liz is a huge fan of Manchester United she also loves all sports, going on holiday, food and socialising.
Lee Bolland, Director of Operations and Community Services (Acting)
Lee has a wealth of experience in operational management – having worked for The Royal Mencap Society for the last 10 years. He began his career as a support worker and concluded his employment with Mencap as an Area Operations Manager covering the Lincolnshire area, which provided support to over 150 people with a learning disability, with a team of around 140 staff and 10 managers.
Outside of work Lee enjoys family adventures in his caravan, cooking and listening to music –sometimes all at the same time!
